 In this 2023 new year the university of Arizona cooperative extension, designing Arizona signatures, and visit southern Arizona, are excited to produce a two-day event for the Arizona viticulture industry stakeholders 

The organizing committee would like to welcome wine grape vineyard producers and constituents across all the grape-producing regions and AVA's in Arizona to join us for two days at Biosphere 2 in Oracle, to collaborate on a strategy for Arizona viticulture. Presenting research outcomes and practices in the Arizona industry and case studies from other regions. The goal is to align the future mission and objectives of extension research. Day 1 of the viticulture summit includes a ‘Behind-the-Scenes' tour of Biosphere 2, wine tasting, history of arizona wines, and banquet dinner.

The second day of planned events on March 7, 2023, will begin with an early breakfast, followed by presentations on five critical topics. During lunch, Markus Keller, Professor/Chateau Ste. Michelle Distinguished Professor in Viticulture, Washington State University, will discuss “Viticulture Research, State-level Industry Development, and Emerging Trends.” After summation by our expert panel, breakout sessions will discuss arising needs and direction in more detail. Arizona wine grape producers and constituents will deliberate with professionals of different disciplines, with the end goal to draft objectives and mission for the support of future viticulture research and potential center of research.
